Grant Delgatty is a seasoned industrial designer, educator, IP expert witness and serial entrepreneur with over 27 years of industry experience and more than 16 years in higher education teaching industrial design and consumer product strategy. He is currently an Associate Professor of Practice and Chair of Product Innovation at the University of Southern California Iovine and Young Academy.
Grant has been credited as an inventor on more than 20 utility and design patents and has led large design teams including Vans shoes, where the company saw a 500% growth in revenue during his time as head of design. Grant has also founded a number of innovative product ventures including URB-E, where he invented and designed a compact folding electric scooter as a last mile personal commuting solution years prior to the introduction of the many shared electric scooter companies. He has won numerous awards for his designs and has been published extensively. In 2015, Grant was included in the SoCalTech50 list of Southern California entrepreneurs to watch and in January 2020, he made Pasadena Magazine’s ‘The Influential 50’ list.
